Hamburg is the capital of the Hanseatic League which united the northern merchant towns is a beautiful, wide town, half of which consists of parks and canals and accounts nowadays as the third touristic destination in Germany. Why? Because Hamburg it is a elegant destinations that offer to the travelers many hotels, bed and breakfast, full of art and history, only some 100 kilometers from the northern sea. Over 2000 bridges cross the Elba river and some 65 kilometers of piers accompany the river, over 100 consulates are present in the town, no other town in the world equals this record.
If some years ago the exciting aspect of Hamburg was represented the ‘red lights district’ of St Pauli, the town. During our short holiday in Campania we could not miss this precious jewel named Paestum well known for its spectacular Doric temples. According to the legend these temples where built by the Argonauts, but history says that Paestum was founded in the VII century b.C. by the inhabitants of Sibari. Its first name was Poseidonia and it soon became a flourishing business centre of the Mediterranean sea. The archeological park consists of three Doric temples built in the V century b.C. facing the sea and are really well preserved: the Temple of Neptune, the Basilica and the Temple of Cerere. The almost 5 kilometers circuit of fortified walls is amongst the best preserved of all the Magna Graecia. If you happen to be there in Summer, don’t miss a night visit to the area, maybe after having tasted a delicious buffalo mozzarella.

Coming through the Leviathan’s entrance, a narrow boat long 22 metres, you can’t avoid to think to Giona and the white whale belly or to Antoni Gaudi’s Battlò house in Barcelona. The boat Leviathan has been built by Mr. Simon Birtwistle and his partner Al Acaster, but they said not to have kept in contact with their Spanish colleague. When they bought the boat, it was used to carry coal and was very run-down. They have chosen a tradition design for the external parts and to create a real house in the interiors spaces. You can often see the Leviathan sailing the Kenneth and Avon Canal, famous water-way the cross Somerset Country, in the South of England.
